Ben Nevis Summit Hike discover
Challenging mountain hike up Britain's highest peak, with alpine conditions and navigation skills required.
Ben Nevis rises above Fort William to 1,345 meters. The Mountain Track is a demanding mountain hike with a stony upper section. Fog, snow, and poor visibility can make navigation on the summit plateau difficult.
The John Muir Trust manages the area along with further peaks and habitats. Steall Gorge and An Steall Bàn are independent natural sights, not part of every summit route. Climbing the summit requires time for ascent and descent, as well as turning back in good time.
